Well, we actually made it to 600 fans a while ago, but here is the giveaway. FINALLY. I am officially the world’s worst blogger, but I promise to get better once things slow down a bit. Like maybe in January. That is when I’m planning on writing my 2010 business and marketing plan. Black Tie Bridal Show

Okay, okay… I KNOW that I have been a horrible blogger lately!! Life has been crazy, and with 12 sessions in the past 2 weeks, 2 weddings, a few consults and meetings, working the “day” job, snuggling my kiddos and trying to sleep, I just haven’t had time. :( I am headed to Portland next week to visit my brother, and I’m hoping to get caught up on editing and blogging while I’m gone {no kiddos or hubby for 1 week - what am I going to do?!?}.

Anyways, I am so looking forward to this weekend A: because my crazy week of 7 sessions will be behind me and vacation will be near and B: the Black Tie Bridal Show is finally here! This will be my first bridal show, and I am so excited! If you are planning on attending the show, stop by my booth! I am also offering $100 off your wedding collection if you book on Sunday!

Matilda Jane Clothing Trunk Show and Open House

The trunk show is almost here!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am for the fall Field Trip line from Matilda Jane Clothing, and you can be one of the first to view it at my trunk show and Open House on Tuesday, August 10 from 6-8pm at the studio! The line is now online at www.matildajaneclothing.com and I am IN LOVE!!! There is now an awesome new {wish list} basket which allows you to print out your list and bring it with you to the show. I can also take orders via phone or email if you aren’t able to make it, so be sure to check out the site and let me know if you want anything! Items tend to go fast, and once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Molly came backt to the studio for her 8 month portraits, and her mom still made the most hilarious noises to make her smile… my camera was shaking I was laughing so hard! Apparently I can still take a solid photo while rolling on the floor though! Thanks for the fun Heather, can’t wait to shoot Molly’s 1 year portraits!

Relay for Life

Relay for Life was one of those emotional experiences that is hard to put into words. I joined Craig Lee to help photograph survivors and their families - their portraits were printed {courtesty of Harold’s Photo} and then each person was given the opportunity to share their story in writing and have it hung on the wall. Each person that I met was there to fight back against cancer, to celebrate surviving, or to remember a lost loved one. So powerful and humbling! During a break I stepped into the ceremony and watched the survivors take the first loop where doctors and other medical professionals were waiting to hand out medals to each person. I noticed an older man in a wheelchair showing his medal to a young man and stopped to photograph the intereaction and realized the older man was Dale, a dear co-worker who has been battling cancer. We both immediately broke down in tears, hugging each other for a few moments. I could hear his family asking him who I was, and it was so neat to see him again, to meet his family, and to see him fighting back against this awful disease. So many people are affected by cancer, and I am proud to say that I relay for each and every one of them!

Oh sweet Caroline! Jill and Chris are great friends of ours from Rapid City - Mike and Chris go WAY back to elementary school! Jill also happens to sell Matilda Jane Clothing and will be in town in a couple of weeks at my Matilda Jane trunk show. I stopped by for a quick photo session when we were in the Black Hills last week, and Caroline was an absolute joy to photograph! We started in their back yard and went down the street to a field and discovered an awesome old shed and windmill - dreamy!!

Relay for Life

{The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.}

I am so excited to be a part of this year’s Relay for Life at the Sioux Falls Stadium July 30! I feel so honored to have been asked to help photograph participants and survivors and to give them a visual way to tell their stories. If you or anyone you know has been touched by cancer, come and walk!

Sax wedding {sneak peek}

Timothy + Holly = wedded bliss! I had the pleasure of second shooting the pre-wedding festivities and helping with posing and organization with an up & coming photographer. I am good friends with Holly’s step-mom, and it was so fun to be there for her special day and capture a lot of the details of their beautiful day! We had a little rain, which foiled most of the outdoor portrait options, but we did get a little creative with umbrellas and rain boots, and were lucky enough to have the rain let up long enough to get the wedding party outside. These two are so much fun, and it was fun to capture their quirky personalities!
